Our Faith Foundation
At City of His Grace Mission Inc., our doctrinal statements form the bedrock of our faith, guiding our beliefs and practices. We are grounded in the fundamental tenets of Christianity, anchored in the unchanging truths of the Holy Scriptures.
1. The Bible as the Inspired Word of God:
We believe in the divine inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of the Holy Bible. The Scriptures, encompassing the Old and New Testaments, serve as our ultimate guide for faith, doctrine, and daily living.
2. The Triune God:
We affirm the existence of one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, yet distinct in role and function.
3. The Deity of Jesus Christ:
We confess the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, and imminent return.
4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith:
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is a gift of God, not earned by human merit, but received through repentance and faith in Christ's finished work on the cross.
5. The Work of the Holy Spirit:
We acknowledge the Holy Spirit as the Comforter, Convicter, and Empowerer of believers. The Spirit indwells and seals every believer, enabling them to live a life that reflects the character of Christ.
6. The Church as the Body of Christ:
The Church is not a physical building but the living body of believers united in Christ. We emphasize the importance of the local church in worship, fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.
7. Baptism and the Lord's Supper:
We practice believer's baptism as a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord's Supper is observed in remembrance of Christ's sacrificial death and in anticipation of His return.
8. The Second Coming of Christ:
We anticipate the literal and personal return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom. This blessed hope motivates us to live holy and godly lives in anticipation of His imminent return.
9. The Final Judgment:
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, with the righteous entering eternal life and the unrighteous facing judgment and separation from God.
10. The Great Commission:
We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission, proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, and bringing the transformative message of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
Our Statement of Faith
